House Rejects Obama's Overreach
Friends,
When the Obama Administration announced it was unconstitutionally gutting the 1996 welfare reform law’s work requirements, we knew we had to act. This landmark conservative policy helped three million Americans achieve independence from government.
Today, the House voted 250-164 to reject this illegal overreach, thanks to pressure from conservatives like you. In fact, 19 Democrats voted against Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi and for personal responsibility.

Thanks to hundreds of constituent phone calls, letters to Congress and the generosity of nearly 1,000 principled Americans, Heritage Action was able to pressure lawmakers and ensure a conservative victory. We are grateful for your support to help our team in Washington reach out to critical Capitol Hill staffers and Members of Congress. With the combination of your voice and our political pressure, we were able to vote down this Obama administration policy by a stunning majority.

This is a huge victory, but the battle is not over. Soon the Senate will vote to block Obama’s illegal welfare plan, and we are already preparing for what is sure to be an even tougher fight.
Thank you for your steadfast support. We could not have done it without you.
Sincerely,

Michael A. Needham
Chief Executive Officer
