The Democratic National Convention (DNC) is on the horizon, beginning in Charlotte, NC, on September 4 and finishing September 6.
President Bill Clinton is to be the keynote speaker at the DNC this year. By making Clinton the main attraction, President Barack Obama hopes to create a comparison between himself and Clinton, who is seen as one of the more successful Democratic presidents in modern times. Team Obama believes that if people associate him with Clinton, he will have this election in the bag.
What Obama sees as a benefit, however, I believe will prove to be problematic for him. Clinton’s speech will be about economic growth, something in which, admittedly, he is highly experienced.
