Muslim Brotherhood visits White House. So, now they’re the good guys?

Since taking the helm 3 ½ years ago, President Barack Obama has not visited Israel. And after White House talks this week with the Muslim Brotherhood, Israel may be less keen for a visit from Barack Obama.


But despite the Muslim Brotherhood’s ties to Hamas and other Jew-hating, anti-American, terrorist groups and their wish to steer Egypt to Sharia Law, the Obama Administration sees the Muslim Brotherhood as “the good guys” when compared to the other sect vying for power in Egypt, the Salafists.


The Salafist candidate for president, Ismail, wants to tear up Egypt’s peace treaty with Israel, denounces trade with the West and praises Iran. A Salafist member of the Egyptian parliament, Adel Azzasy, recently introduced legislation to punish crimes The Sharia Way:

“The penalties according to Azzazy’s bill are execution in the case of murder, or cutting one arm and one leg from opposite sides of the culprit’s body in the cases of robbery and forcible taking of property. If the taking of possessions is accompanied by murder, the penalty would be death or crucifixion, to be determined by the judge.”


But the Muslim Brotherhood has not condemned the bill, in fact “MP Gamal Heshmat from the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party praised the bill.”


But, what’s a little bloodshed among countrymen?


The Salafists do not pretend to be more—or less than they are. They are the big bad wolves. The Muslim Brotherhood are also hungry wolves, but they wisely choose to hunt in sheep’s clothing. Their disguise even garnered them an invitation to the White House to discuss the future of Egypt.


From everything I’ve read, the Muslim Brotherhood is no friend to Israel and no friend to the West. They want what “the extremists”, the Salafists, want. They just know how to bide their time in order to earn the trust of the rest of the world.


I know America has made pacts with the Devil throughout history. We even did so in Egypt and we see how well that fared over time. So is the Obama administration ready to throw America’s weight behind the a cleverly disguised wolf to stave off one that is poised to attack immediately?


I believe whether it’s the Salfists or the Muslim Brotherhood who take control of Egypt’s future makes little difference in the end. Egyptian women and young girls will never know freedom and Israel will never know peace.
