Ben Franklin at Constitutional Convention 1787:

“I have lived a long time Sir and the longer I live the more convincing proof I see of the proof that God governs in the affairs of men and if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice is it possible that an empire can be built without His aid?” Psalm 22:28 “The Kingdom is the Lord’s and He is the Governor among the nations. Psalm 33:10-12. “The Lord brings the counsel of the heathen to nothing. He makes the devices of the people of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands forever; the thoughts of His heart to all generations.” BLESSED IS THE NATION WHOSE GOD IS THE LORD. Psalm 33:16 “There is no king saved by the multitude of an host.”
