It’s as if the entire conservative case against the Obama administration’s incompetence, malice, and inefficiency was boiled down into one incident.
Top outlets warn reporters to cut back on 'derogatory' term Two of America’s largest mainstream media outlets have decided reporters should cut down on the use of the term “Obamacare,” fearing it’s gotten too negative of a connotation.
Tom Kent, the deputy managing editor and standards editor of The Associated Press who is responsible for “accuracy and balance” across the stories carried on AP’s newswire, wrote a column Tuesday telling reporters to back off using the term “Obamacare” when referring to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Shutdown attack on Republicans laced with toilet talk
Americans may be thinking this whole government-shutdown fight in Washington is beginning to stink, but to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, that stink smells like money.
“OK, enough of this crap,” reads the subject line and the first sentence of Friday’s fundraising email from DCCC Rapid Response, seeking $3 donations to “spread the truth to the American people” that “Republicans, Boehner, Ted Cruz, the Tea Party” are to blame for the government shutdown.
It is clear now that the Obama/Reid plan to refuse negotiations — again, the GOP is asking for universal delay of ObamaCare rather than Obama’s selective waivers; and it asking that Congress be compelled to follow the law it passed, nothing more — is orchestrated and intended to move directly to the debt limit debate, which the President, his administration, progressives, the news media, academics, and leftwing law professors (but I repeat myself) are busy laying the rhetorical ground work for.
On Thursday, Democrat tool Chad Henderson claimed to have enrolled in ObamaCare while most others' attempts failed. News organizations eagerly lapped up his story. Apparently, though, the story was "too good to check," because when someone finally did, it fell apart, discrediting Big Media, the Democrats, and ObamaCare.
Between
the cold water, Icees, air conditioning and time spent talking with James from
Louisiana I felt ready to tackle the eleven hour trip back to Florence,
Alabama. I called my longsuffering wife to warn her I was officially on my way
home, filled up the tank, put in another Led Zepplin CD and hit the highway.
Traffic was fairly heavy but wasn't unexpected, as it was the evening rush
hour. I thought about phoning my sponsor Robert Bumpas, whose funds had allowed
me to make this journey, but decided to wait until I made it home and then fill
him in on everything. I did talk to my elder sister Marty D'Arcy living in
Atlanta and compared notes. I was suppose to have uploaded pictures and film
onto my Google + account as well as my website, but the tablet I used had
failed me completely. Mark's 4G phone had worked perfectly on the National
Mall, allowing him to send media to the internet, but my device had to rely on
the wi-fi signals in the air and was more miss than hit. Marty told me that the
major news agencies did not report the event at all (surprise surprise) but the
internet was abuzz with video and pictures and personal anecdotes. There was
even a big fuss over the Department of Transportation's website that was suppose
to display the major Beltway exits for commuters. Instead of showing a mass of
bikes circling the Beltway, someone in the agency had replaced the live images
with static shots of the exits with no traffic whatsoever. There were even
pictures of exits covered in snow - purportedly on the eleventh of September!
This was the extent our government was willing to go to try and rewrite
history. The realization was absurd, outrageous and chilling.
Three
hours into the trip I could barely keep my eyes open. The past 24 hours was
finally catching up with me. No, it had caught up with me and was beating me
over the head with a ton of sand. I forced myself to drive until I came across
a rest area, then pulled off the highway and was asleep before I could properly
close my eyes. Four hours later I awoke with a start to darkness and the sound
of dozens of big trucks idling. I stepped out of my car and walked around the
rest area until my circulation kicked in. I saw a couple of Harleys parked
close to the bathrooms and felt a rush of camaraderie come over me. One of the
bikes had a large American flag rolled up and lashed to its pole, looking like
an imposing spear rising up from the back of the Harley. No doubt these guys
had been to the Ride. I thought about waiting for them so we could talk but
decided against it. I went to the vending machines instead. As I wrestled over
a Mounds candy bar that didn't want to open I heard the bikes start up with a
familiar roar and watched the riders pull back onto the Interstate.
I
mulled over memories of the day and night before as I wandered back to my car.
I had not seen this level of patriotism since watching the fleet come into
Norfolk, Virginia from Operation Desert Storm in '91. No, not even then,
because that patriotism generated from the family, friends and grateful
citizens. This display, this pride of nation and flag, I had never experienced
before, not even in my days in the military. The men I had witnessed and
encountered on this journey had come from everywhere to defend the sacred
memory of those who had lost their lives twelve years earlier. There were
representatives of all social classes, all races, all branches of the military,
all occupations, all political leanings, all corners of our nation to be
counted - not as one in a million, but as ONE. They may have brought with them
feelings of disaffection with the Muslims, dissatisfaction with the government
and disappointment with the state of affairs in the country and world, but to a
man they came to preserve the sanctity of 9/11, to remind themselves, each
other and the nation that we will never forget the horror, nor the singular
determination to make those who had orchestrated such a heinous act pay for
what they had done, and to renew our vow to do whatever it takes to keep that
sort of thing from ever happening again. If another enemy, foreign or domestic,
tries to bring us down, there won't be 1.2 million bikers. There will be TWELVE
million warriors on motorcycles, and that wouldn't even be the tip of the spear.
The United States - again, I say the UNITED States - consists of 314 million
warriors, most of them armed to the teeth, each willing to water the tree of
liberty with his or her blood. If push comes to shove, we will not suffer any
threat to our freedoms, be it from outside forces or our own government. We are
slow to anger and quick to forgive, but above all we are not afraid to defend
our rights and the rights of our neighbors. We may fuss and fight among
ourselves, but let someone come in and try to tell us what to do and we'll
bring Toby Keith's song lyrics to life (Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue):

I
had seen a sample of that boot this day and was grateful I had been there to
witness it. It took me another 18 hours to get home and about a week before I fully
recovered from the road, but if needed, I would have turned right around and
taken my tired old self wherever my country needed me. For the rest of my life,
whenever I hear the sound of a motorcycle, I'll think of those brave warriors
of the first degree, and the sound will comfort me because it roars of freedom.

...Among the other left-wing groups hopping on the Obamacare
navigator bandwagon are the Democrat-friendly Planned Parenthood,
National Urban League, and Virginia Poverty Law Center Inc.
Other left-wing groups have signed up with the Department of Health
and Human Services (HHS) as “Champions of Coverage.” They vow to promote
enrollment by emailing their members, hanging posters, giving out fact
sheets and brochures, holding conference calls, or promoting enrollment
in other ways.
Among the Champions of Coverage are Families USA, League of United
Latin American Citizens (LULAC), NAACP, Service Employees International
Union (SEIU), and U.S. PIRG Education Fund.
It used to be that a college degree was a ticket to a pretty good
job. No more. College graduates are now called the “Lost” generation
because more than half of recent graduates are jobless, or working only
non-career part-time jobs, or working jobs that don’t require a college
degree.
Today’s college students have been betrayed by the Obama
Administration in so many ways. It was just the start when government
invited them to mortgage their futures by taking out big loans to pay
extravagant tuition prices, and then they discover they can’t get a job
worth the price of the loans.
Government loans even encourage students to borrow money to spend
five or six years in college because, unprepared for college-level
studies, they must take remedial courses to learn what they should have
been taught in high school. Student loans now total $1 trillion, and the
average student owes $25,000.
California Governor Jerry Brown signed Assembly Bill (AB) 351 into law yesterday that opposes not only the indefinite detention sections of the National Defense Authorization Act, but any and all federal law, which would seek to disregard one’s constitutional rights, specifically with regards to the Fifth Amendment.
Aspiring democracies look to the U.S. as a role model, but the shutdown makes us look silly.
WARSAW—Over the past 20 years, I’ve spent a lot of time in countries that are not democracies but would like to be. First in Central Europe and the former Soviet Union, more recently in North Africa, I’ve met many, many people who are trying to figure out how to translate that elusive, almost mystical concept, “the will of the people,” into the practical matters of government: taxation, public spending, defense, law and order, garbage collection. Over and over again, I’ve watched them construct institutions designed to make possible that translation from the mystical into the practical: parliaments, presidencies, court systems. Sooner or later, they all learn that the act of voting is a necessary but insufficient component of democracy. Without legitimate representative and executive institutions—institutions that can translate the “will of the people” into concrete policies—democracy always fails.
The first day of the shutdown was filled
with media reports about Obamacare's problems. Many Americans couldn't access
the online exchanges and those who did found health plans with higher
premiums.
On the second day, Democrats said they would defeat smaller
bills to fund parts of the government unrelated to Obamacare -- a move that
exposed their support for the shutdown as a way to muscle people into
Obamacare.
Democrats are stumbling
because conservatives are standing up to them.
In fact, when
Harry Reid (D-NV) was asked if Senate Democrats would support a
funding bill that might save a child with cancer, Reid snapped and said, "Why
would we want to do that?"
It's amazing what happens when Republicans
stand on principle; Democrats begin to make mistakes.

The first phase of this campaign was to get Republicans
to stand strong. While 25 Senate Republicans led by Mitch
McConnell (R-KY) betrayed us and helped the Democrats fund Obamacare,
we kept House Republicans from backing down.
The next phase of this campaign is to pressure
Democrats.

All of this whining and crying about a “government shutdown” is a total joke. You see, there really is very little reason why this “government shutdown” cannot continue indefinitely Washington D.C. is being conducted pretty much as usual. It turns out that the definition of “essential personnel” has expanded so much over the years that almost everyone is considered “essential” at this point. In fact, this shutdown is such a non-event that even referring to it as a “partial government shutdown” would really be overstating what is actually happening. The following are 36 facts which prove that almost everything is still running during this government shutdown…
Among the pearls of wisdom conveyed in Ecclesiastes is that everything has its time.
“A time to be born … a time to die, a time to plant … a time to uproot, a time for war … a time for peace.”
The founders of the United States drew up a Constitution to serve as an operating manual, in its checks and balances, for peaceful, deliberative government. They understood human nature and set up a system in which competing interests would have to give in. Compromise, they understood, is a necessary lubricant for the wheels of government “of the people, by the people, and for the people” to turn and allow us to move forward.
Democrats, who have long posed as the party of peaceniks and doves, have been anything but during the great rhetorical war of 2013. In fact, the party of George McGovern and Jimmy Carter has been mad as hell as of late, leading an offensive of bombastic insults and rhetorical bullying that has dominated the government shutdown. It’s a perfect storm, with Democrats leading the pace.
The following could be hazardous to your political health if you are one of those people who truly believes there is no difference between the Democrats and establishment Republicans (notice I said establishment Republicans). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s office has leaked emails between him and Speaker of the House John Boehner’s office which demonstrate that Boehner may have coordinated with Reid to exempt Congress from Obamacare.
The emails from Boehner’s office were authored by his chief of staff Mike Sommers and those emails were leaked by Reid’s chief of staff David Krone, who apparently has a history of doing this type of thing.
One of our sons got my wife and me a Roku last Christmas and we have enjoyed the many Netflix films that are offered. Lately, we have been watching a television series called “Revolution.” This series begins with the disaster of all generated power going out throughout the world. It depicts how governments fall and chaos grips America. People are so hungry they will kill their neighbor for a small portion of food. Militias are quickly formed in various parts of the country with evil people in leadership. I couldn’t help think about the possibility of the lights going out in this country. Some would say that would be unthinkable so why talk about it.
We conservatives, patriots, Christians and believers in tradition values are quick to respond with desperate criticism of those who diametrically oppose us, but there is one criticism you will not hear. No one can condemn our adversaries for not having a plan. They have a plan alright; they have a specific plan that they stand amalgamated behind.
