#17 Example of Psychological Abuse in School Programs:
One child was placed in front of the class to share her feelings she experienced when she found her father dead. Later she was hassled by classmates who teased her. The second child as a disciplinary action was placed in front of the class and ordered to tell her experience of her parents divorce and told to choose which parent she wanted to live with. A third child by answering a questionnaire checked yes her Dad spanks her.
Her Dad was then taken to the police station. Each of these examples took place in Lincoln County School district and each one relates to problems caused in Preventive Guidance Counseling Programs. In conclusion the District Administration and curriculum planners now use the same material that reflects the new Health Education Program for grades 1 through 8. It includes, “peer influences on safe practices” ---”different and unique individuals” --- “a child’s role in the family”---ALL FOR GRADE ONE! Grade 2) Communicating feelings and dealing with hostility and aggression. Grade 3) Self Regulation”-- “Biofeedback” and coping with peer pressure.”
Grade 4) Predicting consequences of behavior. Grade 5 and 6) Coping with distress---Biofeedback... resolving conflicts. Grade 7 and 8 Coping with personal loss...dating...sexual contraceptives...-------- Loss through death and divorce caused so many problems for children in the 1982-83 school year by the Preventive Guidance Counseling School Program. This is what led to the Hatch Amendment passed by congress in 1984.
