Donald Trump Just Announced His Plan for Eliminating ISIS… Obama Would NEVER Do This
The radicalized Islamic State group, which has for all intents and purposes created their own “Jihadistan” in what used to be Iraq and Syria, pose a clear and present danger to the U.S. and Western Civilization.
Despite this threat, President Barack Obama has pursued a strategy of weakness in dealing with ISIS and has launched the bare minimum of military action necessary to provide himself political cover.
Thus, one of the main questions consistently asked of the many GOP presidential candidates is what, exactly, would they do to not only confront and contain, but also decimate and permanently destroy the Islamic State group.
Billionaire businessman Donald Trump spoke about his plan to take out the Islamic State group during a Monday appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” highlighting a strategy that reveals his business background.
Trump told one of the co-hosts that he would go after the primary source of the Islamic State group’s funding, their oil, unfortunately noting that doing so would require actual “boots on the ground,” a commitment Obama has been unwilling to make.
According to The Daily Caller, Trump said, “I would, every place where they have oil, I would knock the hell out of them, and I would put boots on the ground in those areas. I would take the oil.”
Noting that oil revenue makes up a significant portion of the Islamic State group’s wealth, Trump also pointed out that some of their wealth flows through the banks in the region, particularly banks in Saudi Arabia, which would eventually need to be cut off as well.
“The primary source of their wealth… is oil. And in order to… [cut off their funding], you would have to put boots– I would knock the hell out of them, but I would put a ring around… [oil rich areas] and take the oil for our country. I would just take the oil,” Trump declared.
This strategy actually isn’t a bad one, because decimating the terrorist army’s bank accounts will be just as costly to them as decimating their number of troops, perhaps even more so, because they would then lack the funds to obtain more fighters.
Something will have to be done by the next president to take care of the Islamic State terror group, and unfortunately, it will most likely require at least some boots on the ground.
