Obama Rushing Passage of the Law of the Sea Treaty & the Small Arms Treaty
You might be wondering how the United States Senate can even consider signing a treaty with an organization as corrupt as the U.N. They can because Progressives are running our government and they are enamored with the U.N. and global governance.
The United States is considering four treaties in fact, two of them are coming up this month – the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST) and the Small Arms Treaty. Obama has made it clear he will enthusiastically sign both.
Twenty Republicans might vote for LOST and the treaty will likely pass.
LOST entitles ALL other nations to a percentage of our profits from development of our own sea resources and any we develop around the world. The money will allegedly be transferred by the U.N. to impoverished countries, but it’s more likely to end up in the hands of corrupt U.N. politicians, tribal chieftains and warlords. There is no apparent mechanism for oversight or control by the U.S.
The treaty supersedes our constitution though Progressives will say it does not.
The Navy wrongly thinks it will give them freer passage throughout the world though many countries are not signing up to the treaty and will not be obligated to abide by it. Oil and gas companies see a way to engage in profitable offshore drilling – it’s about money for them. Cont. Reading
