Last week, Senate Republicans introduced tax reform legislation while the House Ways and Means Committee passed their Tax Cuts and Jobs Act bill out of committee. Meanwhile, the left-leaning Tax Policy Center released a study on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which was retracted the next day after a major error was discovered in the study.

Today, Congress is faced with a unique opportunity to deliver historic tax relief for the American people and get our economy growing again.
In President Trump, they have an ally in the White House whose top legislative priority is delivering tax reform, rebuilding the middle class, and making America the greatest and most enticing place to do business in the world.

Under President Trump's leadership, House and Senate Republicans have drawn up tax reform legislation that accomplishes that. There will be differences to reconcile and aspects to refine, but the goals remain the same:
· Simplify the tax code
· Provide relief for low-and-middle income Americans
· Create a competitive environment for business and corporations
· Revitalize the economy and push GDP growth to 3.5% and higher

The Republican tax reform plan is good for American workers, for American businesses, and for the American economy.
When it comes to taxes, less is more. History is on our side here, and the proof is bipartisan. Presidents Ronald Reagan and John F. Kennedy slashed tax rates and ushered in a new era of economic growth.
JFK's across-the-board tax cuts produced annual growth above 5 percent.

After Reagan's tax cuts were fully implemented in 1983, real growth averaged 4.6 percent for the remainder of his presidency.

Both JFK and Reagan passed their tax cuts with huge bipartisan support in Congress, and their efforts paid off. But Democrats today, hell-bent on obstructing the Trump Agenda, continue to peddle false information that indicate otherwise.

This week, The Tax Policy Center this week released another “study” on the House GOP tax cut legislation. Unsurprisingly, they had to retract the bogus study after finding a major error.
But this didn’t stop Democrats from advertising the false data found in the study, nor have they deleted or corrected tweets or post that reference the skewed study.

In a Monday statement, Sen. Schumer attacked the GOP based on an analysis from the Tax Policy Center: "As the years roll on, wealthy taxpayers and corporations reap huge windfalls while middle class taxpayers get stuck with the bill," Schumer wrote. "It’s no wonder Republicans are trying to rush this bill through–the more scrutiny it gets, the worse it looks."

The Senate Democrats also tweeted out a video that heavily cited the Tax Policy Center.
The House Democrats and several other Democratic politicians (Sen. Maggie Hassan) and committees also touted the Tax Policy Center analysis. Not even the truth can get in the way of the latest Democrat talking points. While they continue to stand for our broken tax code, Republicans in Congress and the White House will fight for the middle class.

President Trump has already made impressive headway on slashing Obama-era regulations, unleashing American energy and inspiring near-unprecedented consumer confidence. Reforming our failing tax code is the next logical step towards making our economy great again.
