Through the end of the election, Team Hillary and the Democrats did everything they could to convince us that the Russians were trying to infiltrate out election systems to affect the outcome, and while someone did try to hack them, it wasn’t the Russians.
No, you see the Russians really have no vested interest in tampering with our elections, and even if they wanted to it would be nearly impossible. However, that hasn’t stopped many members of the Democrat Party, including Obama himself, from trying to convince us that they were doing so.
As it turns out, someone did, in fact, try to gain access to at least one election database post-election, but it’s highly unlikely that Putin was behind it unless he has operatives in our government we don’t know about. Yes you read that right, it was Obama’s Department of Homeland Security that tried to penetrate the security of Georgia’s election database.
Did you head just fill up with questions? Yeah, likewise.
Here’s more on the shocking revelation from the Wall Street Journal:
The secretary of state of Georgia is asking the Department of Homeland Security to explain what appears to be an attempted breach of the state’s voter registration database by someone in the federal government.
In a letter to Department of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson dated Thursday, Georgia’s Secretary of State Brian Kemp said the state had discovered an unsuccessful attempt to breach the firewall of state computer systems. That attempt was linked to an IP address associated with DHS, he said.
“At no time has my office agreed to or permitted DHS to conduct penetration testing or security scans of our network,”wrote Mr. Kemp, a Republican. “Moreover, your department has not contacted my office since this unsuccessful incident to alert us of any security event that would require testing or scanning of our network.”
The alleged attempted intrusion by the federal government on a state computer system responsible for election security was detected by a third-party security firm working for the state of Georgia. The attempt was unsuccessful, according to the state. The computers also house information about company incorporations.
isn’t that something? Apparently Kemp said the intrusion occurred one week after the election, and according to Zero Hedge, he knows the exact IP address where it came from.
Naturally, such an illegal intrusion into the state’s databases, even if unsuccessful, led Kemp to ask some rather pointed questions of Johnson and his DHS.
Nice, huh? I’m sure the wheels are spinning like crazy in your head right now, so let me ask you this; wouldn’t it be something if all of the contrived hype over Russia hacking our elections was merely to cover our own government’s ass because that’s what it was planning on doing?
Given this administration’s penchant for scandals and rigging elections using the government, as we saw with the IRS, the sad reality is that might not be too wild of a conspiracy to believe.
