Should Trump SACK Sanctuary Cities? (Here’s 5 Things You Need To Know)
It isn’t a question of legality, it’s just one of enforcement.
There is no ‘grey area’ as to whether the sanctuary city policies are in open defiance of the law. They are. But mayors and other local politicians are rolling the dice that assuming they can get away with it. That’s what 8 years with ‘selective’ application of the rule of law can get you.
What ELSE can it get you? Here’s a top-five list.
(Courtesy Daily Wire. See original article to see the points fleshed out and some great further reading.)
1. Sanctuary cities are a blatant violation of federal law.
2. Sanctuary cities undermine law enforcement.
3. Sanctuary cities are “akin to roulette.”
4. Crime has surged in sanctuary cities.
5. There are an estimated 300 sanctuary cities, counties, and states…
From the same article:
Additionally, Jessica Vaughn of the Center for Immigration Studies found that in a nine-month timeframe in 2014, sanctuary cities shielded 9,265 illegals from deportation, 62 percent of which “had significant prior criminal histories” and 2,320 of them were subsequently rearrested for new crimes, according to Daniel Horowitz at Conservative Review.
Many of you will remember this heartbreaking story.
Black Lives Matter if they’re killed by Cops and can be used to carry a narrative. But they do NOT really ‘matter’ if they are killed by illegal immigrant gang-bangers who specifically target blacks.
Sadly, his is by no means the only story. Here is a Memorial to Americans killed by illegal immigrants:
Another article puts the emphasis on mayors’ reactions to Trump’s announcement that federal funding to rebel cities will be withheld:
Undoubtedly, those who violated American immigration law draw solace from Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel’s reassurance that the City of Broad Shoulders “always will be a sanctuary city.”
The Party Boss also claimed to those here illegally, presumably with a straight face, “you are safe in Chicago, you are secure in Chicago and you are supported in Chicago.” Emanuel must have missed that as of November 1, his city has experienced “605 murders, 3,003 shootings and 3,633 shooting victims so far this year.”

The math is already looking grim for some of the states that want to maintain their sanctuary status. Here’s what it could cost them.
..The capital city of the Bay State is on the cusp of finding themselves a quarter of a billion taxpayer federal dollars minus from their coffers just as soon as Trump is inaugurated.
Yet the $250,000 annually sent to Bean Town is veritable chump change when compared to what the comrades residing in the San Francisco SSR stand to lose – a whopping $1 billion.
…What could be qualified as poetic justice, the hometown of both Trump and confident Rudy Giuliani stands to lose the most, a Trumpesque $6 billion. —Conservative Firing Line
As VDARE reports, there are specific actions being taken by certain states that should be looked at by the feds.
All three of these big city Democrat mayors have openly stated that their cities are a “sanctuary” for illegal aliens. One would think that admitting to a crime in public was not a good idea, but none are very bright, and interestingly for Democrat politicians, none are attorneys, which might explain their foolish statements. In the law enforcement business, this is called a confession.
…However, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York, among other cities, actively assists illegal aliens in remaining in the United States. The primary method is an identification card specifically designed for illegal aliens. In fact, New York City is now planning to destroy all records of those cards to protect illegal aliens.
Maybe someone should subpoena these records before they’re destroyed. And make a public announcement that if they are not preserved, it is obstruction of justice. Naturally, any official connected with obstructing justice will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
