UNDERSTANDING WHAT MAKES AMERICA GREAT !




Americans have always believed that this nation, founded on the idea of freedom, has a vital responsibility to the rest of the world. As George Washington first recognized, the “preservation of the sacred fire of liberty” depended on the American people. These words remain true today.
Understanding America explores how the United States’ commitment to the universal truths of human equality and the right to self-government—as proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence—requires a vigilant defense of the cause of liberty, both at home and abroad.



FREEDOM FORWARD


It is my hope that this will get people to realize in this country, what we all take for granted our "FREEDOMS and LIBERTIES" That our forefathers knew that this was a ongoing vigilance , the cost of freedom is high in human life and sacrifice and the tree of LIBERTY NEEDS TO BE REFRESHING WITH THE BLOOD OF PATRIOTS

One other thought, our Forefather new that GOD was the Key to the success of our republic,just look around at the buildings in DC and in the documents we hold sacred to our History,than you have to ask how did we defeated A superior adversary like the British to gain our Independence and start our new nation. One final thought my Patriot Friends " IN GOD WE TRUST"

WHAT MAKE AMERICA GREAT ?



PATRIOTS THOUGHTS :

TIME TO WAKE UP!! 


Approximately ten years ago, I was working and living in a very tiny town. I was fortunate to have found a lovely group of people to work with at trucking company. I was and am a fervent christian. I had been in a wonderful christian retreat with my husband and daughters. When we returned home and resumed life as normal, something in me went to heavy intercession and reflection for our country. As I would be driving to and from work, on old back roads, I would admire the countryside and the little houses and the quiet living and then my soul would be arrested with shouts IN PRAYER, 'WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP!!" I would weep and shout and I would try to find some composure to resume a professional pose at work. But internally, this was ever with me. And now I hear the phrase turned by passionate conservative, moral, christian and non christian people. The land is grieving and we need to remember our core values. We need to reawaken our collective willingness to stand up and stand against a very evil time in our nation.

Every part of our structure and infrastructure is being manipulated and destroyed. We have to take back our influence and our voice. If we do not, this could be fatal to our country. What makes our nation great? First, God. He is the Creator of the Universe and everything in it. Of course, there are many schools of thought regarding that, and THAT makes this country great. One has the right to believe and perceive as they choose. The second, what makes this nation great is the men and the women and children who literally laid down their very own personhood, wealth, lands to come to a new land, not yet called America, to be free of the restraints of religious persecution.


To borrow from another patriot, here is a short synopsis of some WHO MADE THIS NATION GREAT:

They signed and they pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor.
What kind of men were they?

Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists.

Eleven were merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation owners; men of means, well-educated, but they signed the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he was forced to move his family almost constantly. He served in the Congress without pay, and his family was kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him, and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge, and Middleton.

At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis had taken over the Nelson home for his headquarters. He quietly urged General George Washington to open fire. The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.

Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed. The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few months.

John Hart was driven from his wife’s bedside as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to waste. For more than a year he lived in forests and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and his children vanished.


My thoughts may seem scattered. So be it. I am a passionate, middle aged housewife with grown daughters and grandchildren. I want them to KNOW the greatness of the nation. I want them to have something to pass on. I want to have something to pass on to the generations coming after me. WAKE UP!!!

I read this statement from a passage in Obama's 2006 Book "The Audacity of Hope": 

Implicit in the constitution's structure, in the very idea of ordered liberty, was a rejection of absolute truth,the infallibility of any idea or ideology or theology or "ism", any tyrannical consistency that lock future generations into a single, unalterable course....how he could come to that conclusion to believe something this foreign to America's heritage?

I want to quote from James Madison, considered to be the Father of the Constitution. "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of those ends, it is the RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government....

In conclusion, with a heavy and fiery heart, WAKE UP, WAKE UP WAKE UP!!!
