Your Daily Bread for Life

Written by the Finger of God
, the Ten Commandments.

Reads Kings of Israel 2 Kings Chapter 17 verse 34-41 Unto this day they do after the former matters. They fear not the Lord, neither do they walk after the statutes or ordinances (laws) which the Lord commanded the children of Jacob whom He named Israel, with whom the Lord made a covenant and charged them saying, ye shall not fear other gods nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them. nor sacrifice to them! Serve the Lord who brought you up out of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm.

Him shall ye fear and Him shall ye worship and to Him shall ye do sacrifice. The statutes and ordinances and law and commandment which He wrote for you ye shall observe to do forevermore! Ye shall not fear other gods! The covenant I have made with you ye shall not forget.

Do not fear other gods but the Lord your God shall ye fear and He shall deliver you out of the hand of your enemies. Howbeit they did not hearken but they did after their former manner. So these nations served their graven images, both their children and their children’s children, as did their fathers, so do they unto this day!

Note From Pearl :

I woke up early this morning in time to see the sunrise. I'm looking across the hill at the leafless trees in the woods. There is "Old Glory" in the middle of the dead trees and the sun is shining and highlighting the Red, White and Blue colors. The neighborhood is below but I do not see it now. There will be signs in the Heavens and signs in the earth in the latter days.

LOOKING BACK INTO ONE'S LIFE

 Michael Hutton

When we look back into our youth we see there were many things we believed... many notions we had... about life and reality that have changed and we now understand better and we see differently. The same thing is true when we look back in history about societies and cultures before ours. The human society has changed over thousands of years as we emerged from caves at one time and now build skyscrapers.

Our understanding of what matters has changed and gradually, in some aspect, our society has become more conscious and the understanding that we are one people has gradually developed in the most advanced human thinking. We are asking questions that were unthinkable a thousand years ago, not only about matters of science but about matters of human social interaction and the value of human life and so many things that are a reflection of the constant forward progress out of the cave.

We, as a race, are compelled to search for how to live better.. how to be better... how to find peace and security and love and meaning in our lives and our societies. But we contend with a contradiction constantly. We contend with selfishness and greed and corruption and evil. Why? The future of an society is its children. They will manage the present ... shape the future and heal the past. They will contend with what we present them. But are we handling the children in our society like civilized people?

Are we civilized if we have children experiencing realities so horrific that is scars their psyches and turns them into savage beasts. I am not excusing those that perpetrate these horrific acts... going into elementary schools and slaughtering children... mass violence exacted by people that are utterly insane.. this is the most evil thing a person can do. Anyone that will harm a child is a broken spirit, ignorant and blind of the most fundamental truth. Even if examined simply from the amoral question of the perpetuation of the species the reality that some people will harm children demonstrates a contradiction of purpose in human thinking that is insane.

Children are innocent, utterly dependent, and we know that in this stage of innocence and dependence the human psyche is developed. Whatever goodness or evil manifests in the person's life is almost wholly dependent on the individual's experience during those years. So... if we want to change the future what should we do regarding our children? My argument is that our entire society should be focused on them first.

Not on football...sorry my guy friends. Not on guns or bowling or fashion or popularity or anything else. We, as a race, should be focused on ensuring that our children have a rich, loving, and complete exposure to the truth of the universe around them. Whatever is necessary to see them become 'the best they can be' should be their welcome to life. Is there any argument against this? Our priorities are all screwed up in my estimation.

And I am certain the moment will come in our societal consciousness when we understand this perfectly. And we'll look back from that vantage point and muse at how foolish human beings were before that and ask how anyone could so completely miss the obvious .
