Where Trump could lose and other things to watch for on Super Tuesday

A Donald Trump sweep of the dozen Super Tuesday states would brand his opponents as losers, and boost him into an all-but-inevitable Republican nominee. A few of the contests, however, may provide a glimpse into his possible vulnerability. Related: Where Sanders could win, and other things to watch for on Super Tuesday

Nearly 600 delegates are up for grabs on Super Tuesday — the most for any day of the 2016 primary season. The bulk of them come from seven Southern contests, including the day’s biggest prize: Texas.

The Republican Party’s implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy has arrived

F

The Republican presidential candidate focuses on Super Tuesday state primaries after a win in Nevada.

The implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy that Republicans had hoped to avoid arrived so virulently this weekend that many party leaders vowed never to back the billionaire and openly questioned whether the GOP could come together this election year.

Thoughts On Donald Trump :

 Superman or Salesman?

by Sean Fitzpatrick

Donald Trump remains trumpeting atop the Republican polls. His larger-than-life crusade to “Make America Great Again” is enough to get anyone’s attention—complete with WWF-style theatrics, bombastic reality-TV braggadocio, and just a hint of fascism—as the billionaire real-estate mogul shouts about cleansing the country of elitist corruption and forcibly defending it from illegal invasion by virtue of his self-proclaimed benevolent, genius, successful self. With a campaign this campy, Mr. Trump’s strength is strange.

Is the Republican Party Splitting Apart?

Edmund Burke

Now that the presidential primary season has begun in earnest, it seems a good time to reconsider just what a political party is—what its purpose and essential nature are, and how we may recognize whether one is healthy or in a state of disorder and potential breakdown. As with most things political, it is highly useful to begin, here, with the words of Edmund Burke. For Burke, besides being the father of modern conservatism, also was a prominent member and intellectual leader among the Rockingham Whigs, a faction of what eventually coalesced into one of the first true political parties. Parties had existed for many centuries by the time of Burke’s writings in the late eighteenth century, but had been mere expressions and supports of dynastic concerns and/or formed only for brief times to fight out differences on some particular issue of the day. It was Burke who formulated a more coherent view of party as “a body of men united for promoting by their joint endeavours the national interest upon some particular principle in which they are all agreed.”

A Letter To The Evangelical Trumpsters

Dear Evangelical Trumpsters

Understanding Antonin Scalia's Jurisprudence

Antonin Scalia’s defense of the Constitution was rooted in a determination to let the law speak for itself. His “textualism” took its motive force from the simple idea that a judge’s job is to apply the law (or adjudicate under the law) rather than to change it to mean what it “should” mean, or what he wants it to mean. Only if the plain words of the text are ambiguous does a judge have the right to look behind them, and then only to clearly relevant materials such as contemporaneous dictionaries, well-established rules of construction, and perhaps sections of the same or similar legislation using the same term in the same fashion. The job is not to judge the purpose, but rather to determine the meaning, of the text.

Has the Modern Family Failed Us?

by Robert Nisbet

Nowhere is the concern with the problem of community in Western society more intense than with respect to the family. The contemporary family, as countless books, articles, college courses, and marital clinics make plain, has become an obsessive problem. The family inspires a curious dualism of thought. We tend to regard it uneasily as a final manifestation of tribal society, somehow inappropriate to a democratic, industrial age, but, at the same time, we have become ever more aware of its possibilities as an instrument of social reconstruction.

The Proclamation of King Hezekiah
 God speaks through King Hezekiah:

2 Chronicles 30:1-12 The King had taken counsel with the Princes and all the congregation to keep the Passover. They were not allowed to keep it before King Hezekiah came to reign. In the last verse of chapter 29 it states that the people rejoiced in the Lord for the thing was done suddenly. God had prepared the King to establish a decree to proclaim through all Israel to keep the Pass Over for they had not done so in a long time. So the proclamation went with letters throughout the land, saying: “Ye children of Israel, turn again to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel (Jacob) and He will return to those who have escaped from the King of Syria.

Be not like your fathers and brethren which sinned against the Lord and He gave them up to desolation as ye can see. Yield yourselves to the Lord and enter into His Sanctuary. Serve the Lord your God that the fierceness of His wrath may turn away from you. If ye turn again to the Lord your children and your brethren shall find compassion before them that led them captive so they may return to the Land. The Lord thy God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away His face from you if you return to Him.” So the posts passed from city to city through the land but the people laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

Nevertheless, some of the people humbled themselves and came to the Pass Over. The Hand of God was to give the people one heart to do the commandment by the Word of the Lord. (unquote 2 Chronicles Chapter 30.) This chapter is so similar to today in our country. I can’t understand why some can not see that all the falling away began when all the immoral laws were forced on the people. The Ten Commandments were taken down and the Word of God was taken from our children and we seemed to just accept it and live in our own little corner.

The Equal Rights seemed to include the devil and kick God out. I’m sure some will disagree but that’s how it looks to me. PLS

Republicans on Judiciary Committee Slam Door on Any Obama Supreme Court Nominee :

Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., wants to keep the nomination pipeline through the Senate Judiciary Committee open just a bit longer. He's got two Pennsylvania nominees he wants to get confirmed

GOP Senator Pushes for Action on Obama Judges Amid Supreme Court Fight

The Republican-led Senate Judiciary Committee has vowed to block the path for President Barack Obama’s eventual Supreme Court nominee. But Sen. Pat Toomey is asking that committee to quickly let through two different Obama nominees from his home state of Pennsylvania.

The Republican senator’s push comes as the Senate continues to clash over whether Obama or the next president should fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court created by the Feb. 13 death of Justice Antonin Scalia.

Republicans, including Toomey, have pledged to keep the seat open until after the 2016 election. And on Tuesday, GOP senators on the Judiciary Committee announced that the panel would “withhold consent on any nominee to the Supreme Court submitted by this president.”

That hasn’t stopped Toomey from pressuring Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley to advance John Younge and Robert Colville, nominees for district judgeships, out of committee and to a floor vote.

In a Feb. 19 letter, Toomey wrote Grassley asking him “to promptly consider the nominations of Judge John Younge and Judge Robert Colville.”

Toomey has faced criticism from Democrat challengers for his opposition to the confirmation of any nominee to replace Scalia on the Supreme Court. For lower courts, however, Toomey has boasted of his role in getting Obama’s nominees confirmed.

Earlier this year, at Toomey’s urging, the Senate confirmed Luis Restrepo for a lifetime appointment to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit. He’s the only Obama appellate court nominee to get a Senate confirmation vote so far this year.

In the letter to Grassley, Toomey notes that Pennsylvania trails only two states—California and New York—for the most judicial confirmations over the last five years with 16. He said the “bipartisan process” he’s developed with Pennsylvania’s Democrat senator, Bob Casey, has “proven highly effective.”

In the case of Younge and Colville, a Toomey aide would only say that the senator “supports these nominees and continued to push for their confirmation.” The spokesperson declined to answer whether it was inconsistent to push for the federal district court nominees while blocking a potential Supreme Court nominee.

Nominated by Obama for federal judgeships in the Western and Eastern District Courts of Pennsylvania, the pair has remained in committee since July 2015. Sources familiar with the proceedings say the two failed to impress the committee during the confirmation process.

In particular, some Republican committee members weren’t satisfied with either Colville or Younge’s answers on state’s abilities to regulate access to abortion.

Before Scalia’s death, conservatives argued that the confirmation process should be shut down entirely to protest what they consider Obama’s ongoing executive overreach. Liberals maintained that the process was entirely too political already.

But now it’s not clear whether the current political climate will hinder or help the pair. GOP leadership remains under pressure to show that the Senate can still function. Advancing the duo could counter Democrat attacks of obstructionism.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., cheered the idea of considering the Pennsylvania nominees and any other judicial nominee at any level.

The first-term Democrat, who sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee, called for “movement on all nominees from the Supreme Court on down without regard to the party of the senator [who nominated them].”

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., took a less charitable view. He told The Daily Signal that if the GOP continues to hold up an Obama Supreme Court pick, it’s “hypocritical for the Senate to do any business this year.”

Should Europe be mohammedanism or christian?

An Arab by the name of Mohammed born about a century after Rome fell taught a religion which is called Mohammedanism,,, It's central creed is "There is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his prophet." Mohammed SAID HE WAS SUPERIOR TO CHRIST. Mohammadism marked a step in advance for the idolatrous tribes of western Asia. The Arabs made much progress.

They conquered Spain and marched into France but under French leader Charles the hammer met the Mohammeds and defeated them in one of the most decisive battles in the world. 732 AD. This battle helped to decide whether the religion of western Europe and the future colonists of America was to be christian or mohammedanism.

If mohammedanism had won America could not have been developed in the present way. because the homes on which America's greatness depends could not have been founded under mohammedanism religion which considers women inferior to men.

Mohammedanism does not believe women have souls. when a girl is born they weep and mourn for 40 days. If a Mohammedan is away from home he writes the letter to his son and never to the woman.

So the result of the Battle of Tours made it possible for the christian religion to be carried to America..Halleck's History page 7 and 8 copyright 1926

"THE BATTLING BOYS OF BENGHAZI"

Here's a short poem you won't forget.

Do you recall the President referring to the Benghazi incident as "a bump in the road?"

Today I heard an ex-Navy Seal being interviewed on Fox News regarding a book he has written about how to handle crisis situations in our lives. At the end of the interview he asked if he could make a comment on Benghazi and, of course, the anchor said "yes."

He then thanked Fox News for keeping the Benghazi story in the news, since other news organizations are not. He said the Seals who died deserve the public knowing the truth about the whole affair.

This poem was written by an anonymous Marine Corps officer:

We're the battling boys of Benghazi,
No fame, no glory, no paparazzi.
Just a fiery death in a blazing hell,
Defending our country we loved so well.

It wasn't our job, but we answered the call,
Fought to the Consulate and scaled the wall.

We pulled twenty countrymen from the jaws of fate
Led them to safety and stood at the gate.
Just the two of us and foes by the score,
But we stood fast to bar the door.

Three calls for reinforcement, but all were denied,
So we fought and we fought and we fought 'til we died.
We gave our all for our Uncle Sam,
But Barack and Hillary didn't give a damn.

Just two dead Seals who carried the load
No thanks to us...we were just
"Bumps In The Road".

So, will this reach every American with a computer? Or do we act like the press and give a pass to the people who literally sat there in the White House and watched the Seals' execution on live streaming video and did absolutely nothing?

"What difference does it make?" And she wants to be the next President!
