Rand Paul: If Boehner Passes Amnesty, Will Be ‘Final Thing He Does as Speaker’

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said on Laura Ingraham’s radio program that House Speaker John Boehner’s speakership is in jeopardy if any form of amnesty, such as the Senate’s immigration reform bill, becomes law.
“I’m worried about conference,” Paul said Friday, according to Roll Call. “The only way to avoid a problem with conference is for the speaker of the House to say we are not going to conference, and we will not allow a vote on anything coming out of conference that resembles the Senate bill, and if there were a much more limited bill that emphasizes border security first, that we would do that.”

Special Report: George Soros is Funding the Next Generation of Liberal Journalism

George Soros' money ties to media outlets worldwide enable him to influence the most important audience of all: journalists

The MRC is proud to announce the release of a comprehensive report that details how George Soros is actively investing to ensure the future of liberal media bias.

Click here to read the full report.

Columbia (University) has received $9.7 million from left-wing billionaire George Soros, more support than he has given to all but three other schools. Soros is also connected to the newly appointed dean of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Steve Coll, who is currently the head of the New America Foundation, a progressive public policy organization that has received $4.2 million from Soros since 2000.”

The Media Research Center’s Soros Project is a groundbreaking effort to expose and neutralize the anti-American billionaire George Soros’ war on freedom and prosperity.

This most recent installment of the Soros Project blows the lid off George Soros’ ties to the most prestigious and most influential hub for advocacy journalism.

Our researchers worked hard to expose this blatant effort to buy the media. Even if you don’t have time to read the whole thing now, visit this page and take a look at the summary—it’s shocking.

Since 1987, the Media Research Center has been the nation’s premier media watchdog. We don’t endorse politicians and we don’t lobby for legislation. MRC’s sole mission is to expose and neutralize the propaganda arm of the Left: the national news media. This makes the MRC’s work unique within the conservative movement.

Obama Impeachment May Soon Become A Reality

Here's author Aaron Klein discussing Obama's impeachable offenses and why the topic, once considered the stuff of conspiracy theories, may be gaining momentum in Washington.

Students To Michelle Obama:

Your Food 'Tastes Like Vomit'

Students in a rural Kentucky county — and their parents — are the latest to join a growing national chorus of scorn for the healthy school lunches touted by first lady Michelle Obama.

"They say it tastes like vomit," said Harlan County Public Schools board member Myra Mosley at a contentious board meeting last week, reports The Harlan Daily Enterprise.

Blessed are the peacemakers

Once again, the world waits as the government of the United States and her allies decide what should be done about the use of chemical weapons in Syria.  The United Nations is at the present time investigating the use of these weapons, but the U.S. is convinced that this was the work of the Assad government and not that of the rebels.  The world is once again on the eve of war and peace loving people around the globe are holding their breath.

Sen. Graham: Obama makes 'Carter look better by the day'

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) offered a scathing criticism of President Obama on Syria, saying he makes “Jimmy Carter look better by the day.”
Graham cast Obama’s strategy on Syria as “unintelligible” and said he had made a huge mistake by withdrawing U.S. forces from Iraq and sending a U.S. ambassador back to Syria.

The Right Kind of Federalism

Regular elections are a critical feature of American democracy. If you don’t like the way your town, state, or federal government is headed, you know you’ll have a chance to change leadership at the ballot box.
Of course, if your state is slowing you up with high tax rates and slow growth, there’s no need to wait. Americans are always free to vote with their feet and move from one state to another. And we’re doing so.

It is absolutely amazing what otherwise intelligent people will say once they embrace the idea that everyone should have exactly the same opportunities in all areas of life

Dreaming of Equality of Opportunity, Not Outcome

In the United States, dreams have a funny way of becoming reality. That’s what makes the American dream so powerful. It’s renewed, and usually achieved, in each new generation.
It’s been more than 50 years now since Martin Luther King Jr. described his goal of equality of opportunity for all Americans. It was “a dream deeply rooted in the American dream,” he explained, a dream based on “the magnificent words of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence.”

In many ways, the U.S. has achieved that dream and moved on to others. Segregated water fountains and restaurants are a thing of the past, and laws ensure equal treatment in hiring. But in his speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, President Obama warned that things are getting worse.

Rebels and local residents in Ghouta accuse Saudi Prince Bandar bin Sultan of providing chemical weapons to an al-Qaida linked rebel group.

The Syrian Scenario

Arabs are particularly fond of dates with historical or religious significance. Recall the Yom Kippur War in 1973, the fourth Arab-Israeli war led by a coalition of Egypt and Syria. Like earlier wars, it ended in defeat for the Arabs.
It happens that sundown on Wednesday, September 4, marks the beginning of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. It will be followed ten days later by Yom Kippur. The temptation to attack Israel must have many in the Middle East salivating.

Citizens are Challenging Rules on American Flag Displays

Citizens across the country are fighting what they believe are erroneous rules regarding their American flag displays, and some are determined not to give up.
Boston, Massachusetts, resident Mark DiGiovanni is refusing to remove the American flag hanging from his condominium window even though he will be fined $25 a day for breaking the management’s “white curtains only” rule.

By now, most of you have probably seen videos and stories about the many impeach Obama overpass protests.
As a barometer of the left’s concern, look at the increasing level of harrassment, abuse and arrests of the protestors, but with no charges and unlikely convictions, as no real crimes have been committed.  But, you might want to bring a lawyer and several videographers to your next overpass rally. The cataclysm of states (1861-1865)

A brief history of conservatism, Part 6

By : Fred Hutchison

Conservatism passed through a series of fiery trials during the nineteenth century. I will tell the tale in two parts. This essay will view conservatism and Christianity in the crucible of war, namely the American Civil War. In my next installment (part 7), I shall consider seven dark waves that passed over the land during the nineteenth century – namely (1) German "higher criticism" of the Bible, (2) Hegel's Historicism, (3) Marx, (4) Darwin, (5) Freud, (6) James' Pragmatism, and (7) Dewey's Instrumentalism. Each of these ideologies is hostile to conservatism, to Christianity, and to Western culture.

Palin endorses push to defund Obamacare

‘The beast must be stopped’

Sarah Palin, the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee, has thrown her support behind the effort to defund Obamacare, saying the “beast must be stopped.”
“Those in the Senate and those seeking to serve there must stand strong against this devastating program before it reveals its true face now recognized by both sides of the aisle as the bureaucratic and economic beast that will deny our families, our businesses, and our sick the ability to access health care,” Mrs. Palin said in a statement posted on the Senate Conservatives Fund website. “The time for rhetoric and ceremonial votes in Congress is over. The time to take serious action to stop Obamacare is now.”
The SCF website is pressuring Senate lawmakers to use the appropriations process when they return to Washington next week to turn off the funding for the Affordable Care Act, which Congress passed in 2010.
Mrs. Palin’s endorsement of the push comes as former Sen. Jim DeMint, now the head of the Heritage Foundation, holds town halls across the country in an attempt to rally grassroots support for the effort.
Supporters of the defund push have called on lawmakers to reject any spending bills that include money to implement the law — even if that leads to a government shutdown.
President Obama and Democrats have made it clear that they will not support the effort.
Mrs. Palin has remained a powerful voice within some conservative circles in the wake of the 2008 election and after quitting her job as governor of Alaska in 2009.

Open Letter to the People of the World

People of the world,

We are on the brink of another global conflict, perilously teetering on the edge of a precipice in which there will be no return. There is so much hate, so much malice among races and nations, combined with weapons designed to kill millions, that destruction and death seems an inevitability. Humanity is becoming irrelevant, and I weep for all the innocent lives that will be lost for nothing.

I am an American. There was a time in our storied history when we represented freedom, opportunity and sanctuary. Those times are now slipping away rapidly, and if that happens our nation will go the way of so many other empires known only now in history lessons. Scholars in future generations (if the human race survives itself) will debate the reasons why the United States crumbled and failed, but the truth is that we will have strayed away from the principles of our original constitution, that we forgot our nation was at one time sanctified by God, that we stopped being responsible for ourselves and began blaming others for our failures, and that we became enslaved by our own government because we allowed it to be. That, my fellow inhabitants of the world, is the reason for the mess we are in. We allowed it.

At this time, approximately half of our population is dependant on the government for sustenance, whether it be disability, food stamps, unemployment payments, welfare or other programs. The poor and indigent are enslaved by the system, smothered by medical debt and a lack of adequate wages. The middle class is almost non-existent, shackled by taxes, a severely depressed economy and runaway inflation. The dollar is being devalued every day, and our nation is literally owned by countries who desire our destruction. We have allowed it. Our cities go bankrupt, our industry abandons us, our political system is impotent and corrupt, our morals and values have descended into depravity, our church attendance is declining, our children’s children have forgotten how to look each other in the eye and our laws have become so cumbersome that the engine of justice just spins in place like a hamster wheel. And we allowed it.

My country, like yours, is filled with good, honest people who struggle and love and strive and hope and cry and dream and laugh and care. In essence, we are more like you than not. I am sure that your newspapers and TV stations and websites are rumbling against the United States, labeling us as imperialistic, militaristic, expansionist and even downright evil. If our elected leader and his incompetent advisors push the world into armed conflict, please remember that even though we allowed circumstances to come to this, it is due to the majority’s blatant sense of entitlement and widespread ignorance. Please try to understand that the rest of us are frantically trying to educate and emancipate them. It is not easy.

Despite the stupidity and ineptitude displayed by our government, the essence of America - indeed, the very core of our being - is rooted in freedom and patriotism and pragmatism and fairness and tolerance and respect and self reliance. Remember these things about us, if you can, during the next few days, weeks and months. Do not doubt, though, that if your nation decides to wage war against us, we will fight with ferociousness and determination, and your country will regret its decision, this I assure you.  But I do not come here to threaten or boast. I want you to know, and it is important for you to understand this, that the vast majority of Americans do NOT want our government to interfere in the affairs of sovereign nations, politically or militarily. We allowed these jerks to come into office, but we did NOT put them there to practice oppression here or abroad. One of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, said “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” I ask you fellow citizens of the world to give us a chance to make things right within our own government. I know that you will probably think it is too late, and it may be, but we still have patriots, we still have brave men and women who are willing to give their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring the United States of America back to its foundation of ensuring life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to all, and to take it forward as a shining example of true democracy for all. Allow us to let freedom ring once again.

Is Article V in Our Future?

by Phyllis Schlafly

Attacks on the U.S. Constitution are coming from all sides. The New York Times opened its op-ed page to several liberal professors of government: one calls our Constitution “imbecilic,” another claims it contains “archaic” and “evil provisions,” and a third urges us to “rewrite the Second Amendment.”

Out of exasperation with the flouting of the Constitution by Barack Obama and his acolytes, and the way Congress is letting them get by with these violations, several conservative authors and pundits are promoting the calling of a national convention to propose amendments to the Constitution. They believe a series of amendments can put our country on a wiser path.

The authority for such a procedure is Article V of our Constitution, so they are calling their plan of action an Article V convention. However, they are fooling themselves when they suggest that Article V creates a path to bypass Congress with a “convention of states.”

The only power the states have under Article V is the opportunity to submit an “application” (petition) humbly beseeching Congress to call a convention. Hundreds of such applications have been submitted over the years, with widely different purposes and wording, many applications were later rescinded, and some purport to make the application valid for only a particular amendment such as a federal balanced budget or congressional term limits.

Article V states that Congress “shall” call a convention on the application of two-thirds of state legislatures (34), but how will Congress count valid applications? We don’t know, and so far Congress has ignored them anyway.

If Congress ever decides to act, Article V gives Congress exclusive power to issue the “Call” for a convention to propose “amendments” (note the plural). The Call is the governing document which determines all the basic rules such as where and when a convention will be held, who is eligible to be a delegate (will current office-holders be eligible?), how delegates will be apportioned, how expenses will be paid, and who will be the chairman.

Article V also gives Congress the power to determine whether the three-fourths of the states required for ratification of amendments can ratify by the state legislature’s action or by state conventions.

McCain Has Had His Head Up Obama’s Assets for So Long That He’s Gone Color Blind

by Dean Garrison

The big story of Tuesday Night was John McCain accusing Obama of giving Assad the “green light” to use chemical weapons. Well played John but I’m not buying it and neither should the rest of America. The Daily Beast broke the story Tuesday Evening and McCain’s rationale looks good but there is a dark side to it that some may not catch. So let’s go through what he said and then attempt to dissect it.

McCain’s argument centered around Obama’s indecision to respond to earlier reported chemical attacks launched by Assad. He basically stated that since Assad had been allowed to use chemical weapons before and nothing happened, that he felt safe in doing it again. Sounds logical.
The Daily Beast quotes John McCain as saying:

“What a sad state of affairs when the United States is arm-in-arm with oppressive Islamist governments.”

Reblogged from Jericho777's Blog:

Another Failed Gun Control Experiment

It sounds strange, but my two favorite columns on gun control were authored by self-identified leftists. But they didn’t let ideology trump common sense.
Justin Cronin, for instance, explained that restrictions on gun ownership undermined his ability to protect his family. And Jeffrey Goldberg looked at the evidence and concluded that guns make people safer.
This doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate gun control columns by non-leftists. This Larry Correia piece, for instance, is must reading if you want to understand about magazine limits and so-called assault weapons.
And if you like real-world evidence, Jeff Jacoby of the Boston Globe examines what happened after Massachusetts adopted onerous gun control legislation. He starts by explaining the law and what supporters promised.

72 Types Of Americans That Are Considered “Potential Terrorists” In Official Government Documents

Are you a conservative, a libertarian, a Christian or a gun owner?  Are you opposed to abortion, globalism, Communism, illegal immigration, the United Nations or the New World Order?  Do you believe in conspiracy theories, do you believe that we are living in the “end times” or do you ever visit alternative news websites (such as this one)?  If you answered yes to any of those questions, you are a “potential terrorist” according to official U.S. government documents.  At one time, the term “terrorist” was used very narrowly.  The government applied that label to people like Osama bin Laden and other Islamic jihadists.

The practical effect of leading from behind
I hate to sound cold blooded, but the US should never go to war PURELY for moral reasons.  There are atrocities all over the world, every bit as offensive to our morality, yet we do not involve ourselves.  The massacre in Rwanda and Darfur are just two recent examples.  There are many others.

Is it time to stop special privileges for government officials

All over America, government officials enjoy privileges that ordinary citizens don't. Sometimes it involves bearing arms, with special rules favoring police, politicians and even retired government employees. Sometimes it involves freedom from traffic and parking tickets, like the special non-traceable license plates enjoyed by tens of thousands of California state employees or similar immunities for Colorado legislators. Often it involves immunity from legal challenges, like the "qualified" immunity to lawsuits enjoyed by most government officials, or the even-better "absolute immunity" enjoyed by judges and prosecutors.

Facebook just released its first-ever "transparency report," following the lead of Google. The report detailed how many government requests per country the company handled, as well as the number of user accounts requested. In both cases, the most requests came from the United States government. RT's Erin Ade has more on the transparency report and the types of information the U.S. requested.

Has Anyone Asked the Patient?

By Howard Hyde

Most Americans are increasingly aware that the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA, a.k.a. ObamaCare), is actually making patients less protected (losing their coverage), and is rendering health care less affordable (through rising premiums). The stories about UPS (15,000 spouses cut from employee's plans), Forever 21 (all non-managers' hours cut to below 30 per week), the latest Kaiser Family Foundation survey (average premiums up $3000 since 2009) and more, are daily and incessant reminders that something is terribly wrong.

Why the GOP Lost and How It Can Win

By Alan Caruba

Throughout the 2012 political campaign, I was nagged by the feeling that Mitt Romney was “too nice” and said so, despite having supported him during the primaries. I kept waiting for him to wage an aggressive campaign, but it never happened. For the second time in a row, the GOP had selected a “me too” Republican more eager to demonstrate that he had much in common with Obama and the Democrats than with the core values of the party; smaller government, lower taxes, reducing the debt, and less regulation.

A Letter From A Patriot, Moral Dilemma .

Moral Dilemma Resolved

A Message to Muslims

I've been wanting to talk with you for a long time. The reason why I haven't up until now is that I wanted to make sure I was ready for the Holy Spirit to use me to say the right words to pierce your heart. It's not because I was afraid of insulting your beliefs; I think faith, if pure and right, can be made stronger through opposition. It's not because I was afraid that you would put a fatwa out on me and then catch me out in the yard some day and lop my head off. I know there is glory awaiting me just beyond the veil and am not afraid of death at all. It's not because I thought my message would be too soft or too tough. It's because I knew that if I talked to you with my own voice I'd only make matters worse. Now let me get out of the way for awhile.

These words are spoken to you out of a deep and abiding love, and from an understanding you won't find from non-Muslims. I used to be a Muslim. I know how hard it is to hear people put down your beliefs. It still bothers me that non-Jihadist and non-Islamist Muslims are lumped together in the same pit with the radical, hate-spewing terrorists. The prejudice sometimes makes you want to fall in line with the very monsters you loathe, as if you don't have enough pressure to make Jihad your path. You're always walking on thin ice. Let me talk you off the ice and onto hallowed ground.

The most precious thing you do as a Muslim is to pray, to prostrate and submit yourself at least five times a day. The doorway to Heaven is the shape of you in prayer to God. Don't let others talk you into praying for anything beyond praising God, thanking God, and pleading with God to give you the courage and wisdom to do His will. Everything else you do, from the ritualistic cleaning, the memorized utterances, the clothing and even the direction you pray, all that is nothing more than a distraction. God wants to have a real conversation with you. He loves to hear your voice when you speak to Him. He desires that you keep a prayer on your lips at all times. The only problem is that who you've been told is God - Allah - is in reality NOT God. I know you automatically want to shut down right now and dismiss the rest of these words, but hear me out, I beg you.

Remember when Muhammad began having visits from Gabriel, how he trembled with fear thinking the encounters demonic? He was so convinced he was possessed by evil that he tried to throw himself off a mountain three times. He should have trusted his intuition, because he was tricked into thinking he was receiving heavenly guidance, when in fact he was the first of many (over a billion and counting now) deceived by Iblis (Satan) himself.

Listen to the words of Muhammad regarding Allah's true nature:

"The most awful name in Allah's sight on the Day of Resurrection, will be that of a man calling himself Malik Al-Amlak (the King of kings)." (Sahih al-Bukhari book 73 Num:224)

The following scripture was written by the apostle Paul four hundred years before Muhammad was born:

"That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ: Which in his times he shall shew, who is blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords." (1 Timothy 6:14-15)

"And he (Jesus) hath on his vesture and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS." (Revelation 19:16)

Why would Allah consider the one who is called King of kings the most awful name? Why is it awful to Allah anyway?

Perhaps this will make it more clear. Read the fate of the one who deceived Muhammad, and all who believes the deception:

"And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever." (Revelation 20:10) Remember, these scriptures were written BEFORE Muhammad was even born, so the message given to him by the great deceiver was in the shadow of these scriptures.

Allah knows precisely who Jesus Christ is, and he hates Christians because we also know who Jesus Christ is.

Oh, Allah is real, alright, but his goal is to draw you away from the Word, to make you submit to his will under threat of destruction, to make you draw a line between believers and unbelievers and make you condemn and judge and kill those who will not convert to his way. If you can't see or understand these things, you haven't studied the Qur'an or Hadiths enough. You are being led astray by the great Deceiver, and among other things, he wants you to believe that Christianity is a lie. Here is the gist of Allah's message: Believe me and hate those who don't, or you'll burn in Hell. Do you want to place your eternity on a being who is described in the Qur'an as 'khayru al-makireen' or 'the greatest deceiver/schemer/conniver'?

Do not be led astray, my friend. God loves you. He loves you so much He came to earth in the body of Jesus, and willingly gave His sinless life as a sacrifice for every last one of us. He became the ultimate Lamb of God; he shed His holy blood so that you may come to know that He wants you to be cleansed from your sins and return Home where you belong. He was crucified and suffered beyond belief, and was thinking of YOU when He hung on that cross. He wants you to believe in Him and His promises, and in doing so gain eternal life.

Turn away from the vengeful, hate-mongering, threatening force of deception, and fall into the open arms of Jesus. I guarantee you will never be the same again. God loves you, and so do I.

New Findings in 2013 Education Poll

Although opposition to Common Core education standards is growing, an overwhelming majority of Americans remain supportive of these standards. A majority also backs government funding of preschool education for disadvantaged children. At the same time, Americans are becoming increasingly resistant to demands for greater education spending and higher teacher pay. They give a higher evaluation to private schools than to public ones in their local community, but opposition to market-oriented school-reform proposals such as performance pay for teachers and school vouchers seems to be on the rise, say Michael Henderson, assistant professor of political science at the University of Mississippi, and Paul E. Peterson, director of the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University and senior fellow at the Hoover Institution.
Support for the Common Core remains very high despite recent political controversy.

Is there gold in Fort Knox?

by Dr. Eowyn

Have you heard or seen the term “fiat money”?

Wikipedia explains that the term “fiat money” derives from the Latin fiat (“let it be done”, “it shall be”), which hints at the arbitrary nature of the money. In contrast to “representative money” that is backed by gold or silver, and which entails the legal requirement that the bank of issue redeem it in fixed weights of gold or silver, fiat money is money without intrinsic value, but is simply money declared by a government to be legal tender, which is neither convertible by law to any other thing, nor fixed in value in terms of any objective standard.

It’s Not Crazy to Talk about Impeachment

To the legacy media, that shriveling adjunct of the White House press office, the story is not why Americans would think it worth asking whether the president should be impeached. It is, as one would expect, why some prominent Republicans are dignifying the question with serious answers.
Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is in trouble, naturally. Being an unapologetic conservative, tea-party stalwart, and happy warrior has made him the preferred punching bag of the media and other Beltway dinosaurs - their hysteria meter always tells you who worries them most. Asked at a conservative gathering in the Houston suburbs "why don't we impeach" the president, Cruz respectfully replied that this was a "good question." He then gave a good answer: "We don't have the votes."
